Ramps belong to the onion family and are native to North America. They are, perhaps, one of the few indigenous wild produce still preserved here. These wild leeks are delicate plants that add a robust flavor to dishes. Much like spring onions, the whole plant is edible with the leaves being milder in flavor than the bulb! Scones are a great way of enjoying the flavor. They make for a perfect snack or accompaniment to leisurely brunches.

Holy Sundays + Cherry Chocolate Cupcakes

I recently did a Perugina chocolate making class at Eataly in NYC and it was a lot of fun!  I got to make my own bacis and also take away a really yummy chocolate olive oil cake that we frosted with cherry mascarpone frosting. I share some photos and recipes from that class here.

Also, I wanted to put forth an idea.. That of celebrating new beginnings each week and making every Sunday a holy one, in your own way...!

BIG ASS EGG SALADS

This is story of several meals that I typically eat when I am on my own. A good egg, a few other scraps of leaves and shavings and I am a happy girl. Mostly it is the egg.
