Rainbow Pavlova with Orange Creme Anglaise
Unicorns and rainbows. That’s the general theme in our house when you have two little girls, no matter how non-Disney your home life may be! TF2 chose pavlova, inspired by an onside of Bluey. TF1 was on board as long as we could add colors. You see where that is going. One wanted blue and green, another pink and red. Eventually they collaborated on it being Rainbow. So many lessons learnt and we got to eat our cake too! :)
Corolli Rossi - Sweet Pink Cookies For Little Hands
When I saw the photo of these Corolli rossi in Emiko’s Acquacotta, I knew I had the next bake! That they were pink was, quite literally, icing on the cake… for the 3 year old adores pink! I made some modifications on the quantity and also the liquor used, as noted below.
Speaking Out ... for Myself.
n the midst of a pandemic, particular one where we have been fortunate to weather rather well, it seems trifling to think about needing space and breaks. I mean after all my life is incomparably easy relative to healthcare workers and those in essential jobs. And yet, I feel a fatigue and severe ennui. I struggle with feeling grateful for what I have and yet being empathetic to my own needs…
Yet, at the same time, I can see that isn’t helpful or enabling. It is necessary to let in my vulnerable self and reach out for support. Because, if I do not, not only does it inhibit me from finding balance and joy within me, it also blinds me from the extending empathy and balance to those around me.
Be my Valentine, Coz I am Real!
Have you ever bit into a strawberry and had an epiphany of “Ohh! This is love !!”. Or, looked at someone you love and think, “Ohhhh, caramel?!”. No! Because that is not really how love works. So, I have decided to rebrand Valentine to the real, authentic and multi-dimensional… atleast in the foods we use to represent and celebrate love. Today, I bring you the first idea, a tease of a dish…
I present to you Blue CheeseCake topped with Honey and Sage Roasted Grapes.
It's Basic (ally) a Good Cake!
But, what is a girl to do when she just wants some rightly-sweet cake with her coffee/tea. You know the kind that you don’t fall into but one you can eat while reading a book and sipping a beverage all at the same time. Yes, the afternoon tea kind.
Well, bake it herself of course!
So here we are. I decided, I’ll make myself an easy cake that needs no adornment save a light dusting of powdered sugar, like fairy dust and lasts a few days, so I don’t have to bake anew every other day.
