Chestnut Fudge Brownie
Since my first encounter with the Tuscan specialty castagnaccio, I have fallen in love with chestnut flour. Finer than almonds, sweet and nutty in flavor, the flour of chestnuts is as elegant as a lady in an evening dress, gliding on a carpet of Fall's golden leaves! Now, is the season for roasted chestnuts. The aroma of these freshly roasted mingles as spiced air, before the onslaught of mulled cider and cinnamon. It harkens Fall/Autumn in a natural sense.
Personally, I have been baking with chestnut flour for a while to very happy results!
For the love of chestnuts
Ok, let's go with cake.
Fact: This one I have today is from sometime ago. But, it is still awesome. Only this morning someone mailed me asking to happily share on of my chestnut recipes with all the photos for... wait for it ... blog credit! Woot? NOT!
Fact: Chestnuts are really cool. And, really warm. What?!! Yes, they are. I love them. I may have eaten them everyday when I was Istanbul last December.
It is gluten free too. Yay!
Fact: I want this cake now. Hmmmm.....!
Italian in my Banana Bread
Weekends are for experiments; Trying out new ideas, recipes, restaurants, activities.. you know, life. I can't remember the last memorable thing that I have done during the weekdays that has not been eclipsed by the weekend! Sure, there have been times when I have whooped and thought this was the best day ever, when I closed that amazing deal, or when I was promoted, or when I delighted in seeing a movie mid-week (!!! shock-horror!!!) or I ran into a long lost someone and we shared a coffee spontaneously (happens all too rarely!).. or.. or....
